We don’t like to think that our mechanic will rip us off but unfortunately there are such people in the industry.  They have become fewer but they’re still out there.  Here are a few tips to avoid getting ripped off by car repair shops in Orlando.

How was your car running before it broke down?  If everything appeared normal and the car was running well prior to breaking down, the chances are good that one part caused the breakdown.  If your mechanic starts reciting a long list of repairs that you need, get a second opinion.  You’ll pay for another tow but it could save you ten times that amount.  Most of the car repair in Orlando have tow trucks or can arrange one.

Never, ever sign a blank work order.  Be sure that it is very detailed as to what will be done, listing the prices of the parts and labor and the date the work will be completed.  Ask about warranty on the work done as well as on the parts that will be replaced.  The majority of Orlando car repair shops are honest and reputable but always keep all the paperwork where you can find it.
